Welcome back!  Below you’ll find information on returning to Chicago following your study abroad experience.

Loyola Study Abroad Jobs

Interested in using your experiences to help future participant study abroad?  Email studyabroad@luc.edu to ask when we'll be hiring student workers and/or looking for volunteers.

Global Mentorship Program

The Global Mentorship Program is designed to encourage students to expand their worldviews, improve their intercultural communication skills, make new friends, and increase English competency. To achieve these goals, domestic and international students meet for activities such as exploring a new Chicago neighborhood, grabbing coffee, eating at a restaurant, attending a sporting event, or a movie night.  Contact the Loyola English Language Learning Program for more information. 

Housing for After Study Abroad

If you're abroad during the fall semester and want to live on campus the following spring, watch for an email from Loyola Residence Life in early November with information on how you can apply for spring on-campus housing.  If you're abroad during the spring semester and want to live on campus the following fall, watch for an email from Loyola Residence Life in late January with information on how you can apply for on-campus housing for the upcoming academic year.  If you have questions about living on campus after you study abroad, contact Loyola Residence Life at res-life@luc.edu or 773-508-3300.
 

If, upon returning to Chicago, you're eligible to live off campus, you're responsible for finding your own off-campus housing.  Read Loyola Residence Life's Off-Campus Housing page for help.

Career Development Center

Study abroad will give you a boost in your next job or internship application. Employers are looking for study abroad returnees because they have enhanced communication skills, flexibility, resiliency, and the ability to thrive in a diverse workplace.  Contact the Loyola Career Development Center for expert advice on how to communicate your study abroad experience, and the valuable skills you've gained, in your cover letter, resume, and interview answers.

If you're interested in going abroad after graduation as a Fulbright scholar, contact the Loyola Fellowships Office for more information on how to apply.

Teaching English Abroad

If you're interested in teaching English abroad, contact Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program, North American Language and Culture Assistants Program (in Spain), and Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF) for more information about their teaching placements.

Volunteering Abroad

If you're interested in volunteering abroad, consider contacting an organization like the Jesuit Volunteer Corps or Peace Corps to inquire about their opportunities.
