Policy on High-Risk Locations
The Office of International Programs does not establish, administer, or approve undergraduate study abroad travel to:- any areas throughout a country with a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Travel Health Notice "Warning Level 3 (Red): Avoid all non-essential travel" designation due to reasons other than COVID-19,
- any areas throughout a country with a U.S. Department of State Travel Advisory "Level 4 (Do not travel)" designation due to reasons other than COVID-19, OR
- any provinces, states, counties, or other sub-national regions with "Level 4 (Do not travel)" designations, even in countries carrying an overall U.S. Department of State Travel Advisory Level 1, 2, or 3 designation.
If at any point, even after application acceptance or program start, a location becomes deemed a High-Risk Location, the program is subject to further review and may be cancelled, with Loyola traveler repatriation ordered.
For all other university-related international travel, such as travel for graduate credit or not-for-academic credit travel undertaken by Loyola employees or students; the Office of International Programs does not establish, administer, or approve travel to any areas with a U.S. Department of State Travel Advisory "Level 4 (Do not travel)" designation.
