Bobby Wilson Jr.- Senior Study Abroad Advisor 

Originally from metro-Detroit, Bobby has been working as a Study Abroad Advisor since March 2022. He enjoys meeting with students and talking about language immersion, personal growth abroad, homestays, and selecting the right program fit. While an undergraduate student, he studied abroad in Quito, Ecuador, and post-graduation, he spent 3 years living in Spain. In addition, he has traveled to 20 countries including Argentina, the Dominican Republic, France, Denmark, Morocco, the UK, and more.

Originally from Indiana but now officially recognized as a Chicagoan, Adam has been the primary recruiter for the John Felice Rome Center since January 2022. He completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in United States history at Loyola Chicago and has worked within the Undergraduate Admission Office since 2018. Adam can't articulate in words how awesome spending a semester (or longer) in Rome is, so he sends you there to find out for yourself!

Alana Carroll- Study Abroad Coordinator 

Originally from Milwaukee, Alana has worked in the Office of International Programs since 2017. Alana believes studying abroad can be a transformative experience and wants to share that experience with Loyola Students.  She studied abroad in Australia and has traveled to New Zealand, Fiji, Bermuda, Jamaica, Canada, Ireland, and Mexico.

Marlee Stein- Director of Study Abroad 

Marlee has worked in international education for almost 10 years and specializes in faculty-led program development, international partner relations, and strives to take a student-centered approach to all policy and programming. 

Marlee studied and lived in Salamanca and Granada, Spain and conducted program development site visits to Costa Rica, UK, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, & Bulgaria. 


Study Abroad Advising Types 

Group Peer Advising 

Let our peer advisors get you started on your study abroad journey! Our Peer Advisors are study abroad alumni who are available to answer general study abroad questions and help you get started on the application process. Group peer advising sessions are not country-specific and will include preliminary information about academics, selecting a program, navigating our website, and more! 

The Peer Advisors are a great starting point, and it is recommended to meet with them before meeting a Study Abroad Advisor. 

Walk-In Advising 

Want to stop by without an appointment? Our peer advisors have walk-in advising hours! These meetings can help get you started with the basics. Walk-in peer advising sessions are not country-specific and will include preliminary information about academics, selecting a program, navigating our website, and more! 

The Peer Advisors are a great starting point, and it is recommended to meet with them before meeting a Study Abroad Advisor. 

Study Abroad Advising 

Study Abroad Advising is intended for students who have narrowed down their search to a specific country or region of the world or have a particular program in mind.  

Our study abroad advisors can assist you in selecting a program, applying to programs, answer region specific questions, and advise on housing, scholarships, academics, course approval, budgeting, and entry requirements.

Depending on your interests you may meet with multiple advisors in our office as each advisor has a particular area of expertise.  

Program Application Study Abroad Advising- John Felice Rome Center 

Considering applying to Loyola’s John Felice Rome Center (JFRC)? Then meet with the Assistant Director of Recruitment for the JFRC to learn more! The Office of Undergraduate Admissions can support students in applying to the John Felice Rome Center (JFRC), share more about academic offerings, housing options, and co-curricular opportunities.  

Pre-Departure Study Abroad Advising- John Felice Rome Center 

Congratulations, you have been accepted to study abroad in Rome! Our Study Abroad Coordinator can answer your pre-departure questions and help you prepare for your upcoming term(s) abroad in Rome, Italy. In these appointments, the Study Abroad Coordinator will assist with questions related to housing, selecting a program, accommodations, visas, and other pre-departure requirements.
